Casa Horta, Bruxelas

Cada vez que desapareço para Inglaterra durante umas semanas, vou ensinar desenho e promover o uso do diário gráfico aos alunos de arquitectura. O departamento de Arquitectura da Universidade de Newcastle organiza todos os anos uma viagem de estudo para os alunos do 2º ano do curso. Nos últimos 3 anos a viagem foi a Paris, este ano Bruxelas. Aqui ficam uns apontamentos retirados na visita à casa do arquitecto Victor Horta, em Bruxelas.

During October, in the last 4 years, I've been teaching drawing and promoting the use of a notebook/sketchbook to architects students at the University of Newcastle, England. As part of this teaching the University organizes a field trip, for the 2nd year students, to a city with significant examples of architecture and urban design. Paris has been the chosen city in the last 3 years, this year we went to Brussels. The drawings above are from a visit to Victor Horta's house in Brussels.

Capturing moments of...

some sadness and worry... happens to all... (drawings made in 2005)

Fiz muitos destes desenhos, em 2005, observando as pessoas em meu redor pelas ruas, cafés, etc e procurando captar sobretudo as emoções e estados de espírito expressos na atitude e gestos do corpo/rosto. Aqui ficam 3 um pouco tristonhos...

I've made many of these drawings in 2005 while in England, observing people around me in streets, cafés and others. I've tried capturing mostly their mood and emotions expressed through their body and face.

I'm still recovering from a really bad cold... feeling better, but can't do much still, so I've been digging a few things from the past... like this nonsense strip from 2006.

Ainda em repouso, depois de uma semana de molho com gripe... E como a energia ainda não é muita, aproveito para revisitar coisas que já nem me lembrava que existiam... ;)
